Why postpartum pelvic floor physiotherapy matters

Most patients begin between 6 and 8 weeks postpartum, after medical clearance, though you are welcome at any stage. Whether it has been 8 weeks, 8 months, or 8 years since giving birth, recovery is possible. Earlier appointments focus on healing and gentle reconnection. Later visits address chronic symptoms that may have developed over time.

Your registered pelvic floor physiotherapist will take a detailed birth and recovery history, assess your posture, breath, and core function, and, with your consent, conduct an internal pelvic floor exam to evaluate tone, strength, scar tissue, and coordination. Together we build a personalized recovery plan.

Bring your baby

You are welcome to bring your baby to your appointment at kāer in Leslieville. We understand childcare can be difficult in the early postpartum period. Our space accommodates car seats, feeding, and whatever your baby needs.
